2018 Nissan Pathfinder: Changes, Price, Review

One of Nissan`s very popular SUV on the market is ready to receive a few changes. We are talking about the new 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. This mid size crossover has evolved much during the past years, and has become not only a vehicle with nice off-road capabilities but also more modern and more comfortable SUV.

As the 2017 model year, the Nissan Pathfinder has gotten significant restyling. This included changes in exterior such as new front end, revised grille etc. and interior design. Technology has been upgraded as well. Furthermore, the engine will be most likely the same used in the current model. So, for the upcoming model, we probably won`t see any major changes except perhaps upgraded tech features. All in all, the new Pathfinder will offer spacious and quiet cabin; it will provide comfortable and calm ride which will make it a good choice for large families.

Its strongest rivals will be Toyota Highlander, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango and Hyundai Santa Fe. As its predecessor, it will be available in S, SV, SL and Platinum trim levels.

2018 Nissan Pathfinder powertrain and performance

Under the hood of the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder will be placed the same engine as in its forerunner. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with direct injection. This unit will be able to make 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be coupled to Xtronic continuously variable transmission as before. The new Nissan will be available with front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Its maximum towing capacity will be 6,000 pounds.

Design of exterior and interior

The exterior design of the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder should rest unchanged from the one of the current model which was already revised. This includes bolder front fascia and more aggressive look of the hood. On the front end, there will be a `V-Motion` chrome grille and headlamps with daytime running lights in a shape of boomerang. The LED headlamps will be optional. The rear end will no longer be so rounded but will feature more angular design and edges. It will ride on standard 18-inch while the higher trim levels will get 20-inch wheels.

The interior of the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is quiet, cozy and functional. It will be offered in two colors. This SUV has three rows of comfortable seats, and because of its size, it is very easy to access the third row. The second row can slide back and forth which provides more legroom if the third row is not occupied. The dashboard features an 8-inch touchscreen with latest infotainment system.

All the models come standard with a rearview camera, satellite radio with SiriusXM travel link, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth and so on.

The top model will add heated and ventilated seats, navigation, Bose audio system with 13 speakers, a panoramic sunroof. As for the safety, it will be provided with blind spot monitors, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic and so on.
