The highly popular Range Rover Evoque is stepping into its second generation “suit” very soon. The luxury crossover will be totally redesigned and equipped with latest technologies. The 2018 Range Rover Evoque will compete against the amazing models such as the Lexus NX, Mercedes GLC and new generation BMW X5.
2018 Range Rover Evoque: Engine Options and Fuel Economy
The carmaker has kept the 2018 Range Rover Evoque away from prying eyes. However, some sources have stated that Evoque will house a four-cylinder Ingenium engine. Both gasoline and diesel versions will be available this time. Reports claim a prototype of the vehicle running on the diesel version of a 2.0-liter engine that delivers around 180 horsepower. There are also unconfirmed reports that Jaguar-Land Rover is mulling an electric version of this vehicle. But current trends bear no such suggestion.
A standard all-wheel drive version is the most probable option since that is what has Jaguar Land Rover have always offered. The 2018 Range Rover Evoque will also have a 9-speed automatic with both petrol and diesel engines while fuel efficiency will improve. Current diesel versions have a combined fuel economy of around 38 mpg, but the new vehicle may cross the 40 mark. That is a wonderful rating for a luxury SUV.
Price and Arrival
Typically the 5-seat 2018 Range Rover Evoque will be available in showrooms by late 2018. Five trim levels will be available and price of entry models will state from $30,000. Higher end models will cost more than $45,000. If Jaguar-Land Rover indeed manufactures a convertible version, then expect 2018 Range Rover Evoque to cost even more.
Changes and Design
The biggest change for the 2018 Range Rover Evoque is a new architecture. The platform of new generation SUV will make it wider, which points towards increased cabin space. Now the wheelbase seems to be unchanged from its current version, but the tracks have gotten wider as well. A newly designed trailing arm suspension has also made its way into this vehicle.
The new 2018 Range Rover Evoque will stay the 5-door SUV like its earlier version. However, Land Rover may offer a coupe version in the future. This luxury SUV also has a convertible version and therefore such a version for the 2018 Evoque is possible, although it is too early to speculate.
Even though the 2018 Range Rover Evoque is a pretty stylish luxury SUV, it is not too beefy in its appearance. It does not emanate the heavy-duty SUV vibe. Sporty and cool in its appearance, this vehicle also does not cut down on space unnecessary, as can be the case with some luxury vehicles. Luggage space, in particular, is ample on the rear in both 5-door and coupe versions.
