The Cadillac XT5 represents the entry-level model in the brand’s mid-size SUV class. It is a luxury crossover which has first debuted in 2017 and it has recently entered the second model year. The 2018 XT5 hasn’t brought any major changes except more standard features and we believe that it is going to be the same with the newest 2019 Cadillac XT5.
According to the Cadillac Company, the XT5 might be one of the best-looking and most sophisticated crossover SUVs lately. It is a vehicle which his made for almost every occasion; it is very good in both on- and off-road driving. Under the hood, there is a strong V-6 unit and it is available in front- and all-wheel drive. Looking from the outside, the XT5 is an attractive and elegant crossover. When we take a closer look inside the cabin, we could notice from the instant an elegant styling, quality and premium materials and plenty of equipment. The carmaker also claims that it is one of the safest cars on the road. The 2018 model year has arrived with one single upgrade which includes a heated steering wheel which is now standard on all the models.
The 2019 model year will probably continue with the same specs of the current model. It will be available in the same trim levels and those are the base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum versions.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Cadillac XT5
All the versions of the 2019 Cadillac XT5 will be powered by one single engine. It is a strong 3.6-liter V-6 engine which can deliver 310 horses and the torque of 271 lb-ft. This engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, it will be available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. With FWD, it is rated 19/26/22 mpg in the city/highway/combined. The all-wheel drive version gets 18/25/21 mpg.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 will feature the same styling as the 2018 model which is characterized by soft lines, clean design and very handsome appearance. We especially love its aggressively looking swept-back headlamps with LED running strips. The base model uses the 18-inch alloys while the higher trims ride on the 20-inch wheels.
The interior of the 2019 Cadillac XT5 looks luxurious, elegant and very quality which it really is. It seats five and the front seats are particularly cozy, unlike the rear ones which are average. The Premium trim will get leather upholstery. The dashboard will feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment system.
The base model will come standard with power front seats, a power liftgate, Bose Audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless ignition, and a wireless charging pad. The Premium model will include a panoramic moonroof, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors. The range-toping, Platinum will add heated rear seats, a head-up display system, upgraded leather, and so on.
Release date and price
The carmaker still hasn’t announced the official release date of the upcoming 2019 Cadillac XT5. The pricing should remain the same which starts at around $ 41,000 and goes up to $64,000.
