2019 Dodge Durango: Redesign, SRT, Price

The Dodge’ mid size three-row SUV has been rumored that is should arrive as the 2019 model year. It is the newest 2019 Dodge Durango which should appear with some small styling updates and minor improvements in the tech department. Although it is still not officially confirmed, we assume the upcoming Dodge should stay very similar to the current model and will feature minimal changes. As well, the 2019 model year should also offer the high-performance SRT version as its forerunner and which will show excellent acceleration and great general performance of the vehicle.

The new Dodge Durango will offer several powerful units under its hood. However, what you might not like is its not so good fuel efficiency. Furthermore, it will offer spacious cabin with plenty of space and comfort for all the passengers. As the 2018 model year, it has gotten upgraded infotainment system, new steering wheel and more standard equipment. As well, it has received two new colors for the exterior.

The main rivals of the Dodge Durango will be Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe and GMC Acadia.

When it comes to the drivetrain, the new 2019 Dodge Durango will most likely continue with the same engines which are offered in the current model. So, we can expect several options under its hood. The base one will be a 3.6-liter V-6 engine which will be able to develop 293 hp and the torque of 260 pound-feet. The second will be a 5.7-liter V-8. This one will be able to make 360 hp and the torque of 390 pound-feet. The last one will be the most powerful unit. It will be a 6.4-liter V-8. This engine will produce 475 horses and 470 pound-feet of torque. All the engines will pair with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. As well, it will be available with rear-wheel and all wheel drive configurations.

Speaking of the fuel economy, the V-6 with RWD gets 19/26 mpg in the city/highway while with AWD it gets 18/25 mpg. The 6.4-liter V-8 is rated at 13 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway ad it is the least economical in the lineup.

Design of exterior and interior

The 2019 Dodge Durango will probably continue with the same design as the current model. Perhaps it will get some minor adjustments so it looks fresh. The front end will feature recognizable small grille and most likely slightly revised LED headlamps. It will ride on standard 18-inch wheels.

Inside the cabin, the 2019 Dodge Durango will be very spacious; it has three rows of seats and it is able to welcome up to seven passengers. The cargo space is also very generous. The dashboard will feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen with the latest FCA’s Uconnect infotainment system. Among other standard features, there will be two USB ports, three-zone climate control, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, keyless entry and start, cloth upholstery etc.

Release date and price

The 2019 Dodge Durango should arrive sometime in the second half of 2018. As for the price, it should start at roughly $32,000 and it will go up to $50,000.
