2019 Ford Ecosport: Review, Titanium, Arrival

The Ford Ecosport has been all new for 2018, so the upcoming 2019 Ford Ecosport will hit the market mostly unchanged. Although it is not yet confirmed, the 2019 version could get some upgrades in the technology front, particularly the safety.

2019 Ford Ecosport powertrain and performance

Since the Ford Ecosport is the all-new model for 2018, the 2019 model year will come with two engine versions as the outgoing model. The base is a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine. This unit can deliver 123 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. It is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive layout. The EPA ratings of this engine are 27 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined.

The more powerful engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine which has the output of 166 hp and the torque of 149 lb-ft. It works with a 6-speed automatic also but comes with all-wheel drive system as standard. This powertrain gets 23 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. The towing capacity of this unit is up to 2,000 pounds.

Exterior and interior design

The 2019 Ford Ecosport will feature the same styling as the 2018 model year. And we don’t expect anything to change. The Ecosport looks like a smaller version of the Ford Escape and it is the smallest SUV in the brand’s lineup. The front fascia is tall and dominated by the traditional grille and headlamps. In the higher trim levels, the grille will feature chrome bars and surround. As well, the Ford Ecosport shares some similar design cues with the Chevy Trax and Mercedes GLA. It rides on either 16-inch or 17-inch aluminum wheels depending on a trim level.

The interior of the 2019 Ford Ecosport is able to welcome up to five passengers. The base models come with cloth upholstery while the more expensive versions will receive leather. The Ecosport offers the cargo room of 20.9 cubic feet. The rear seats can also fold down for more room. The dashboard is fitted with a 6.5-inch touchscreen in the SE model while the Titanium version is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen.
