Sometimes by the end of the year, we can expect the newest 2019 GMC Terrain Denali. It represents the second model year of the second generation. So there most likely won’t be any changes applied this time. However, the new Terrain might get some new exterior colors and perhaps several new packages. On the other hand, the Terrain should receive the new Black Edition package which will be available on the SLE and SLT trim levels.
Engine and performance of the 2019 GMC Terrain Denali
The 2019 GMC Terrain Denali will be powered by the same engine as the current model. It is a strong 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged gasoline engine which is able to deliver 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. And it is offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. As for the fuel economy, the front-wheel drive model is estimated to be 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive variant gets 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Furthermore, it is able to hit 60 mph in around 7 seconds and its towing capacity is limited to 3,500 pounds.
Exterior and interior design
As for the exterior design, the 2019 GMC Terrain Denali might only get some changes considering some new colors. But its design should stay pretty much the same. It is the second model year of the second generation, and therefore we don’t expect any major changes. The Denali model differs from the standard Terrain in many details. First of all, it features a different design of the grille with chrome mesh pattern which we must admit, looks very handsome. Furthermore, the Denali gets more chrome accents on the lower rocker panels and outside mirrors. As well, the base model rides on the standard 17-inch wheels while the Denali is equipped with unique 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior of the 2019 GMC Terrain Denali is sufficiently comfortable and functional. However, we cannot say that it is at the top of the class considering luxury. It comes with standard two rows of seats which are comfortable and roomy. The cargo space is also very generous. Behind the second room, the Denali offers the room of 29.6 cubic feet. However, for more space, the second can be folded down which increases the cargo room to 63.3 cubic feet. As well, the passenger’s seat can also be folded down if you need to place longer items.
Equipment of the 2019 GMC Terrain Denali
As for the equipment, the Terrain comes standard with power features, air conditioning, keyless ignition, a rearview camera, cruise control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment, active noise cancellation, USB ports, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and an auxiliary jack. The Denali trim will add a heated steering wheel, power handsfree tailgate, LED headlamps, HD radio, navigation, audio system with 7 speakers, memory seating, blind-spot monitors, lane-departure warning, and rear parking sensors. Heated rear seats, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated front seats, automatic park assist, and surround-view cameras will be optional.
Release date and price
The 2019 GMC Terrain Denali should arrive sometime in the end of 2018. The pricing should stay similar to the current and it starts at around $39,500.
