The GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV which we all know for its impressive capability, great off-road manners, and powerful engine. This model comes in several flavors and those are the SLE, SLT, and Denali trim levels. As well, the Yukon also comes in two sizes so we have the standard model and the Yukon XL version. However, this time we will talk about the high-performance and the most luxurious variant which should arrive as the 2019 model year. It is the upcoming 2019 GMC Yukon Denali.
Like all the other trim levels, the 2019 Yukon Denali shouldn’t get any large upgrades this time and will majorly arrive as a carryover. The 2019 version might be the last model of the current generation, so we can expect a full refresh for 2020 or perhaps 2021. Therefore, the newest Yukon Denali will use the same engine as before which is exclusive for this trim level, and the same transmission. However, perhaps the other versions could finally get this 10-speed automatic gearbox at least as an option. Furthermore, we might see some new colors for the exterior and one or two more color combinations inside the cabin. As well, the carmaker might introduce the newest MyLink infotainment system.
Engine and performance of the 2019 GMC Yukon Denali
Under the hood of the 2019 GMC Yukon Denali will be placed the same engine as in its predecessor. It is a 6.2-liter V-8 engine which is able to make 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. This unit is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It is available with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive layouts. It towing capacity is limited to 5,500 pounds because of its weight while the standard version can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
Design of exterior and interior
When it comes to exterior design, the 2019 GMC Yukon Denali won’t show any major changes this time. It will keep its familiar boxy and muscular design with a large grille and swept-back headlamps. The rear end of the Yukon is squared too and simple and features large LED tail lamps. The Denali version differs from the standard version a bit; it features more chrome details and unique design of the large 20-inch alloy wheels. However, the 2019 model year might get a few more exterior color shades.
The interior of the 2019 GMC Yukon Denali also won’t be revamped this time. It offers three rows of seats and it is able to welcome up to eight passengers. The Denali version isn’t much different from the standard Yukon but it features more quality and a more luxurious cabin with different fake wood details and nicer and softer leather.
The dashboard is equipped with a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Among other standard equipment, there is a rearview camera, three-zone automatic climate control, Bose audio, automatic wipers, etc. The Denali also adds upgraded Bose audio system, magnetically controlled suspension, and active noise canceling.
Release date and price
The 2019 GMC Yukon Denali should arrive sometime in the end of 2018. The pricing should remain the same and it is around $67,000.
