The Infiniti QX50 is a relatively smaller crossover SUV which is placed between smaller QX30 and larger QX60 and QX80 models. It is a handsome car with a cozy cabin, solid engine and a decent amount of tech features. However, we have some great news; the carmaker has presented the all-new and better than ever, the 2019 Infiniti QX50.
The Company has presented their newest 2019 Infiniti QX50 at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November last year. And we have instantly noticed that it has been overhauled in all the segments. Both exterior and interior have been redesigned but that is not all. The carmaker has fitted it with a new VC-Turbo engine. Furthermore, it now offers numerous safety features and ProPilot Assist technologies. Unfortunately, the manufacturer won’t offer it with a hybrid or plug-in hybrid units but with this new engine, its fuel economy will be significantly improved. As well, the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available once again.
The new Infiniti will compete against Mercedes-Benz GLC Class, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Cadillac XT5 and Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Infiniti QX50
The 2019 Infiniti QX50 will drop out the previous V-6 unit and will feature a new 4-cylinder engine. It is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This unit will be able to develop 268 horses and 280 pound-feet of torque. It will pair will a continuously variable transmission. Furthermore, this engine is called the VC-Turbo (variable compression) and it will majorly affect its fuel consumption. It is rated at 27 mpg combined with front-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive configuration, it gets 26 mpg combined.
Platform, exterior, and interior
The 2019 Infiniti QX50 will now be underpinned with the all-new Infiniti architecture which will improve many things. First of all, it should provide more quality and quieter driving and it will offer more space for the passengers and cargo. Visually, the new Infiniti will inherit some similarities from the other models in the lineup, but it will, of course, feature some unique details. The front fascia now gets slightly refreshed grille and slimmer headlamps. The whole front is more upright and now looks more aggressive and bold. Furthermore, we could also notice changes on the rear which will feature sportier appearance. There will be the new two-tone bumper, horizontal taillights, rear spoiler and refreshed dual exhaust pipes.
The cabin of the 2019 Infiniti QX50 will get a major upgrade considering materials and design. It seats five and there is plenty of room for all the occupants. The cargo space is very good and it offers more room than the previous model. It provides the space of 31.1 cubic feet. The dashboard features dual touchscreens: one of the 8.0-inches while the other, placed above the larger is a 7.0-inch display. Among standard equipment, there are Bluetooth, USB, climate control, and for the first time, ProPilot Autonomous Drive Support. Bose audio system with 16 speakers, a panoramic moonroof, heated and ventilated front seats, active noise cancellation will also be included.
