The Jaguar I-Pace is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle to compete against the Tesla. It is a luxury crossover SUV made by the British well-known carmaker and which will draw our attention with a roomy cabin, great handling, powerful all-electric engine and a good 240 mile-range. The newest 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will look pretty much the same as the concept version which has been presented at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. Despite its compact dimensions, the I-Pace will provide excellent space inside the cabin because of its long wheelbase of 117.7 inches. As well, it will offer a very good cargo room which can be expanded with the rear seats folded down.
The brand-new Jaguar will be available in three trim levels which include S, SE, and HSE. However, there will also be the limited First Edition version. Under its hood, the I-Pace is powered by an electric powertrain but it will only be available with one battery size. Furthermore, the carmaker will equip it with the latest features and system but they haven’t still revealed if we could expect any self-driving technology. After its debut later this year, the new Jaguar will find strongest rivals in Tesla Model S, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.
The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace powertrain and range
The all-new 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will be powered by an all-electric drivetrain. It will use two electric motors which will be able to develop 394 hp (294 kWh) and 512 pound-feet of torque. There is also a battery pack of 90 kWh placed in the floor. The power will be sent to all four wheels and it will be able to hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. This unit will provide the range of 240 miles.
With the 100-kW fast charger, the battery will recharge to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. On the other hand, with the 50-kW charger, this will take around 90 minutes. Finally, with the charger at home, the refill of the battery to 80 percent takes 10 hours while to 100 percent it takes around 13 hours.
Design of exterior and interior
Speaking of the external design, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will look almost identical to the concept model shown in 2016. It features a coupe-like styling, brand’s familiar design of the grille, and nicely sculpted surfaces. For more aggressive styling, the carmaker will offer it with optional 22-inch wheels.
Moving to the inside, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will provide sufficient room for all the passengers because of the extended wheelbase. It will offer the cargo space of 25.3 cubic feet but if you fold flat the rear seats, there is a space of 51.0 cubes. The dashboard is fitted with two touchscreens among which the upper display for infotainment is one of 10 inches and the lower one for climate controls and vehicle function is a 5.5-inch screen. The new I-Pace will also get the new EV navigation system.
