The Trackhawk model is the high-performance variant of the Jeep’s well-known SUV and according to the latest news we can soon expect the all-new 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. However, it probably won’t be much different from the outgoing model.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
The high-performance 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will use the same engine as the current model. It is a 6.2-liter V-8 supercharged engine which also powers the Hellcat versions of the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger. This engine is capable of producing 707 horses and 645 pound-feet of torque. It is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This model comes with all-wheel drive system as standard, unlike the V-6 units which come with a rear-wheel drive system as standard. As for the fuel economy, it is rated at 11 mpg in the city, 17 mpg on the highway, and 13 mpg combined. Furthermore, the Grand Cherokee is able to tow up to 7,400 pounds. And it can hit 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.
Design of exterior
The exterior design of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is characterized by muscular lines, handsome look, and tall profile. The Trackhawk model differs from the base and SRT models and it sits a bit lower for 8.1 inches. The front end features a familiar seven-spot grille and headlamps with standard LED daytime running lights. However, the Trackhawk will get quad exhaust outlets and “supercharged” sign on the lower front doors. As well, it will receive red tow hooks, a standard rear spoiler, and 18-inch aluminum off-road wheels. However, it will also be available with the larger 20 inchers.
Interior and equipment
The interior of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, so as the other trim levels, comes standard with two rows of seats and the third row is not an option. It can welcome up to five passengers and the seats are covered in leather. They are also heated and cooled. The lower trim levels come with standard cloth upholstery. The dashboard is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment system. The cargo room measures 36.3 cubic feet. However, with the second row folded down, the Cherokee offers the room of 68.3 cubic feet.
As for the equipment, it comes standard with dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, an AM/FM/CD audio system, a rearview camera, keyless entry, an 8-way power driver’s seat, air conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Uconnect infotainment screen. The Trackhawk will also get an air suspension, skid plates, a black leather interior, Selec-Speed Control, red tow hooks, more intakes for cooling, 8.4-inch LCD touchscreen, and ventilated front seats. However, it will also be available with a premium Harman Kardon audio system, a Blu-ray rear-seat entertainment system, and a trailering package which adds self-leveling rear air suspension, a full-size spare tire, heavy-duty engine cooling and so on.
The safety features include airbags, hill-start assist, a rearview camera, trailer sway control, active headrests, blind-spot monitors, a rear cross-traffic alert etc.
Release date and price of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
It is not yet confirmed when exactly the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will go on sale. The price should stay close to the current which starts at $44,000.
