The all-new 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is almost ready to hit the market worldwide. However, we don’t anticipate any major changes except the brand-new plug-in hybrid engine which will be used for the first time.
2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport powertrain
The 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will return with the same engines as its predecessor but will also introduce a hybrid version. There are three engines in the offer and all are either turbocharged or supercharged.
So, the one is a 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel engine which is rated at 254 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. This engine is found in the SE and HSE trim levels and gets 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. There is also a supercharged version of the same 3.0-liter V-6 which can deliver 340 horses and 332 pound-feet of torque. This variant is rated at 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
Furthermore, in the HSE Dynamic trim level, this engine will be able to produce 380 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. The Supercharged and Autobiography models will be powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 supercharged drivetrain. This unit will be capable of making 518 horses and 461 pound-feet of torque. As for the fuel economy, it is estimated to be 14/19 mpg in the city/highway. The SVR trim level will use the same V-8 engine which in this model will be stronger. It will generate 575 hp and the torque of 502 lb-ft.
All the engines will work with an 8-speed automatic transmission and will come standard with all-wheel drive layout.
Finally, the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport should get a plug-in hybrid engine for the first time. It will be a combination of a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and an electric motor. They will be able to make around 400 horses. As well, it should provide an all-electric range of 31 miles.
Design of exterior and interior
As for the exterior design, the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport shouldn’t get any changes this time and it should keep its sporty and clean look. The front end wears a familiar electric-razor styled grille and narrow headlamps. Depending on a trim level, the Range Rover Sport will be offered with wheels in a size from 19- to 21-inches.
The interior of the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport looks very classy and quality with nice wood inserts and leather surfaces. It comes standard with two rows of seats while the third row is optional on HSE and higher trim levels except on the SVR model. The Range Rover Sport is available in several trim levels: SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic, Supercharged, Autobiography, and SVR.
The base model comes standard with power adjustable heated front seats, USB, Bluetooth, audio system with 8 speakers, dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera, 19-inch wheels, keyless ignition, and leather. The HSE will add a panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitors, audio system with 11 speakers, LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, and parking sensors. The HSE Dynamic will also include 21-inch wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, black exterior accents, premium audio with 19 speakers, and so on. In the Autobiography model, you will also find three-zone climate control, 21-inch wheels, soft-closing doors, and a heated steering wheel. The SVR trim will add more safety equipment and sport seats.
