The Lexus is working on a mild facelift for one of its top sellers. It is the RX which will arrive as a 2019 model sometime during next year. The upcoming 2019 Lexus RX 350 has been caught on the spy photos which suggest some minor yet noticeable changes in the exterior styling.
The current generation of this model has been on a market since 2016, so this time there was no need for any large upgrades and changes. It will continue to be offered as the base RX 350 and a hybrid version called 450h. However, it is still not confirmed whether the 2019 model year will also be available as the RX L. But everything indicates that we will probably see the RX L version after the release of the base model. The new Lexus will arrive with eye-catching and handsome exterior, cozy cabin and excellent safety equipment. The base RX 350 will feature the same engine option as the current model so as the hybrid version too.
The key competitors of the new Lexus will be Volvo XC60, Lincoln MKX, Acura MDX, Nissan Murano and Cadillac XT5.
2019 Lexus RX 350 engine and performance
Speaking of the engine, the 2019 Lexus RX 350 will most likely use the same engine as the current model. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which is able to make 295 horses and the torque of 267 pound-feet. The engine will pair with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It will be available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration.
On the other hand, the hybrid version named RX 450h will get a hybrid unit under its hood. It will be a 3.5-liter V-6 combined with electric motors and batteries. The total output of this unit will be 259 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. The gas engine will be sent power to front wheels while the electric motors to the rear. So, the all-wheel drive system will be standard. It will be mated to a continuously variable transmission.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Lexus RX 350 will continue with the brand’s familiar design philosophy featuring large spindle grille which will dominate the front fascia. For the 2019 model year, the new Lexus won’t feature any major upgrades. Based on the place of the camouflage, it will most likely get revised taillights only. It will ride on standard 18-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels while it will also be available with larger 20-inch high-gloss alloys or chrome alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2019 Lexus RX 350 will probably remain unchanged. It is able to welcome five passengers without any discomfort. The front seats are very comfortable and provide excellent room while the rear ones are supportive too and can split and fold if needed for more cargo space. The synthetic leather upholstery will be standard while the leather will be available too. The dashboard will feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen with infotainment system. Some of the standard equipment will include power front seats, power features, a rearview camera, forward-collision warning, active lane control, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control etc. The Premium package will add wood trim, leather heated and ventilated seats etc.

The 2019 Lexus RX 350 is expected to arrive sometime during 2018. As for the price, there isn’t any information. However, we believe that it won’t differ much from the current model.
