2019 Mercedes EQ Electric Crossover: Specs, Release Date

The Mercedes Company is planning to present 10 electric vehicles and perhaps more by the year of 2025. And at the 2016 Paris Motor Show they have revealed an electric vehicle concept which will belong to the EQ generation lineup. This upcoming model is set for the production in 2019, so we are hoping to see soon the all new 2019 Mercedes EQ Electric Crossover.

The new EQ EV will directly compete against the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace. It will be one of the first members of the EQ electric lineup. According to the latest news, the upcoming SUV will have a range of up to 310 miles. Visually, Mercedes EV will feature futuristic and attractive design with some interesting details about which we’ll say a few words later. Inside, the futuristic design will continue and we will notice top notch features. Furthermore, it will arrive with some autonomous driving systems but not too many.

The upcoming 2019 Mercedes EQ Electric Crossover will be an all-electric vehicle. It will most likely be powered with two electric motors among which one will be placed on the front while the other on the rear axle. There will also be a battery which will be placed on the floor. We can expect the capacity of at least 70 kWh. The total output of this engine should be up to 400 horses and around 516 pound-feet of torque. The expected range will be around 310 miles. The all-wheel drive configuration will be standard and it will be able to reach 60 mph in five seconds.

Design of exterior and interior

Speaking of the exterior design, the 2019 Mercedes EQ Electric Crossover will bring a revolutionary look. With futuristic and modern appearance, the new Mercedes will surely draw attention worldwide. The most eye-catching detail about the upcoming electric SUV is its grille. As to say, the EQ won’t receive conventional grille. It will be a large panel display with radiator grille pattern just like it will be in the rest of the EQ lineup. All the lights, head and tail lamps will use latest laser LED technology. On the rear end, on the bumper and so as on the side, there will be LED strips. As well, the EQ crossover will ride on the large 21-inch alloy wheels. The new Mercedes won’t feature traditional door handles too and there will be cameras instead of exterior mirrors.

Release date and price

The 2019 Mercedes EQ Electric Crossover should arrive sometime during 2019. As for the pricing, the information is still not available. However, we believe that it will be similar to the price of the GLC model which starts at round $39,000.
