2019 Nissan Murano: Redesign, Release Date, Specs

The Nissan’s attractive crossover SUV which now comes with excellent safety ratings is ready to go on sale. It is a 2018 Nissan Murano. The Murano model is a distinctive-looking vehicle which is perhaps average in all segments but we must admit it is a good choice for those who are looking for a comfortable, strong and safe car. According to the latest news, besides the 2018 model which has just released for sale, the carmaker is also working on the newest 2019 Nissan Murano.

The Nissan Murano is a sport utility vehicle which is known for its sharp and unique exterior design and very comfortable cabin. As well, it is very well equipped and all the trims get the large touchscreen with a navigation system.  The fuel economy is satisfying but unfortunately, the Murano is not available with a hybrid engine, at least for now. The safety records are also on the high level, especially now, when the manufacturer has equipped it with more safety systems. However, its cargo space is a bit limited so it is not that practical if you’re planning to tow some heavy and large things.

2019 Nissan Murano side

The 2018 model year has arrived in the market with many upgrades considering technology, precisely more safety, and infotainment features. Those include the new touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay connectivity. As well, the automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning are now standard on all trims. There are also some new packages including the new SV Premium package which adds a panoramic moonroof, Bose audio system, adaptive cruise control and many other more. Furthermore, the new SL Midnight package and a Midnight Edition package for the SL trim were also added.

Finally, the newest 2019 Nissan Murano will probably debut pretty much unchanged from the current model. However, we will have to wait for the official news to find out more. Moreover, it should continue to be available in several trim levels. Those include S, SV, SL and Platinum trims. Its main rivals will be Chevrolet Traverse, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Edge, Volkswagen Atlas and Toyota Highlander.

It is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which is able to develop 260 horses and 240 pound-feet of torque. This unit pairs with a continuously variable transmission. The front-wheel drive is standard while the all-wheel-drive system will be optional. It will be able to hit 60 mph in around 7 seconds. As for the fuel economy, it gets 21/28/24 mpg in the city/highway/combined drive with front-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive, it is rated the same.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior design, the 2019 Nissan Murano should feature the same styling as the current model. The Murano is a good-looking vehicle with a distinctive, sharp and handsome design. The front end is dominated by the wide V-shaped grille and a pair of sharp and narrow headlamps. The base model will ride on the 18-inch wheel while the larger 20-inch ones will be available with Midnight Edition package.
