The first generation of the Nissan Qashqai has been known under the name of Nissan Dulais. However, the second-gen model which has been unveiled back in 2014 has been renamed as the Qashqai and it is one of the best-selling vehicles in the United Kingdom. As well, in the United States, we all know it as the Nissan Rogue Sport. The Qashqai has been overhauled in 2017, but today we shall review the newest 2019 Nissan Qashqai which shouldn’t get any large changes.
The Nissan Qashqai is a compact crossover SUV which finds in main rivals in the Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, SEAT Ateca, Renault Kadjar, and Peugeot 3008. It delivers very good fuel economy, cozy and pleasant interior and it is available at the very reasonable price. The 2017 model year has received significant upgrades when it comes to the exterior styling. It has gotten a new design of the grille, headlamps, and taillights as well. Inside the cabin, the Qashqai features upgraded materials which are softer and provide more luxurious feel. It is also more comfortable than before and offers more legroom. Under the hood, there weren’t any surprises.
So, since the Qashqai is still relatively new and fresh, we assume that the 2019 model year probably will arrive unchanged. Maybe, it could get just some upgrades in the tech department.
Engines and performances of the 2019 Nissan Qashqai
The 2019 Nissan Qashqai will be powered by the same engines as before. And it will be available with several types of engines depending on a market. So, the one option will be a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine. It will have the output of 128 horses and 236 pound-feet of torque. The next is a 1.6-liter petrol powertrain which will be able to make 148 horsepower and the torque of 178 lb-ft. The last option is a 2.0-liter inline-4. This engine will be capable of making 141 ponies and 147 pound-feet. Depending on the engine you choose, the Qashqai will be offered with front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The engines will pair with a continuously variable transmission.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Nissan Qashqai will most likely continue with the same styling of the current model which we must admit looks very handsome, modern and attractive. It features a typically SUV shape with modern lines. The front end is dominated by the well-known V-motion grille, narrow headlamps and LED daytime running lights. On the rear, there will be recognizable wraparound taillights which give it a sleek appearance. The Qashqai is available with 17-inch and 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the 2019 Nissan Qashqai will also remain almost identical to the current model. We were all hoping for the more luxurious and upgraded cabin, but generally, its interior features a decent comfort, space, and quality. As for the equipment, it will be available with Bose system with 7 speakers, heated front seats, navigation, remote start, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and many other more.
Arrival and pricing
We still don’t have the information when the 2019 Nissan Qashqai will go on sale. The pricing should remain similar and it starts at around $20,000.
