2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe: Release Date, Review

The Porsche`s Cayenne model represents one of the most popular luxury crossovers on the market with strong number of sales all over the world. However, lately we could hear the rumors about the new model. In short, the car maker is ready to expand the Cayenne SUV lineup with coupe version. So, if everything goes according to plan, we will see the brand new 2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

How the competition is getting stronger, and since the Mercedes and BMW companies have released their X6 and GLE Coupe models, the Porsche car maker became aware that now is the perfect time to release a unique coupe model in order to stay competitive.

The upcoming Porsche Cayenne Coupe has been caught during its testing where we were able to see that it is going to share some similarities with the standard Cayenne and Panamera models. Furthermore, it is said it will get several petrol and diesel engines so as a plug-in petrol hybrid and diesel-electric units. Despite its size, the interior should offer more space for the passengers than the competition. Its main rival on the market will be BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz MLC and Range Rover Sport.

Like we have mentioned earlier, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe will most likely use the same units which power the standard Cayenne. It should be offered with wide range of petrol, diesel and hybrid options.

The base model should be a 3.0-liter V-6 engine. This unit will be able to produce 300 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The next option is supposed to be a 4.8-liter V-8 twin-turbo which will have the output of 510 horses and 560 pound-feet of torque.

We will also see a diesel 4.1-liter V-6. This engine should develop 380 horsepower. Moreover, there will also be a hybrid powertrain. It is going to be a 3.0-liter V-6 combined with an electric motor. All together they should be able to generate 410 horses.

The engines will most likely be paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. However, it is not yet confirmed. Its top speed will be limited to 155 mph. As for the acceleration, the new Cayenne should be able to hit 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.

Design of exterior and interior

The 2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe will ride on the new version of the VW Group MLB architecture. Speaking of the exterior, the new Porsche will get sportier and more aggressive design than the regular Cayenne. Furthermore, it will also borrow some design cues from the Panamera model, such as similar roofline. However, its wheelbase will be shorter than Panamera model. What we will notice too, is the larger bumper on the front fascia which is inspired by the standard Cayenne.

Release date and price
