2019 Porsche Macan: Release Date, Redesign, Interior

Soon after its premiere, the Porsche Macan has become one of the brand’s best selling small SUVs. It is a small sport utility vehicle which delivers strong performance and great handling. The families are especially interested in this attractive car because of the wide range of engine choices and trim levels. The 2018 model year is already available on the market and they are testing the newest 2019 Porsche Macan.

The current version of Macan has been introduced in 2015, and now the Porsche Company will give it a mild refresh. Based on the prototype, we can conclude that the Macan will get a few styling upgrades, including some adjustments on both front and rear fascias. Inside the cabin, we will notice new touchscreen and more controls. When it comes to the engine, we assume that a plug-in hybrid engine could be added in addition to the standard options.

The Macan’s toughest rivals will include BMW X4, Mercedes-Benz GLC Class, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Audi Q5.

Engines and performances of the 2019 Porsche Macan

The 2019 Porsche Macan is available in several trims and those are base, S, GTS, Turbo and Turbo w/Performance Package. The base model will be powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine. This unit will be able to make 252 hp and the torque of 273 lb-ft. Its fuel efficiency is rated at 20/25 mpg.

The Macan S will feature a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged unit. This one will be able to make 340 horses and the torque of 339 pound-feet. This same engine will power the GTS but will be more powerful. Its output will be 360 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both versions get 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The next version is a 3.6-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged which will be found in Turbo version. It will have the output of 400 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque. As for the fuel efficiency, it gets 17/23 mpg. Furthermore, the Turbo w/Performance package will get the same engine and will develop 440 horses and 406 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, the Macan could also get a plug-in hybrid engine. It will most likely be a combination of V-6 and an electric motor. However, the output of this engine is not yet known.

Design of exterior and interior

Based on the latest photos, the newest 2019 Porsche Macan should feature a new design of the front fascia. Its design will be much likely influenced by the larger Panamera. So, on the front end, there will be a new bumper and new dual-stripe LED daytime running lights. On the rear end, we can expect new bumper as well and restyled taillights which should feature a horizontal LED strip between them.

The 2019 Porsche Macan will also receive some changes in the interior. There will be a new infotainment display and more controls on the dashboard. Perhaps we could see some new colors combinations too.
