The current Subaru Crosstrek is now in its second generation and it has been fully overhauled. It is a small hatchback crossover which rides well and has an excellent capability. Powertrain and performance of the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek
The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek will be powered by the same engine as the current model. It is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct injection. This unit has the output of 152 horses and the torque of 145 pound-feet. Depending on a trim level, there will be two transmissions available. The base and Premium version will pair with a 6-speed manual while the Limited will work with a continuously variable transmission only. However, the base and Premium will also be offered with a CVT. The all-wheel drive will be standard. Speaking of the fuel economy, with a manual gearbox it gets 23/29 mpg. With a CVT, it is rated at 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek will inherit the design of the current model which now features longer and wider body because it rides on the new platform. It has gotten a new grille and restyled headlamps. On the rear, there are wider taillights and hidden exhaust pipes.
The interior of the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek has two rows of seats and it is able to accommodate five passengers. Considering its size, it is sufficiently roomy even for the rear-seat passengers. The seats are comfortable and can be folded flat.
The dashboard will feature a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system. The Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity will be also standard. Release date and price
The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek will most likely arrive sometime in late 2018. The pricing will be similar to the one of the current model. The base model starts at around $22,000; the Premium is slightly more expensive while the Limited begins at $27,000.
