Sometime by the end of this year, the manufacturer will reveal the next version of its popular SUV and it is the 2020 GMC Acadia. This time, it will get a mid-cycle refresh. So, visually, it will get a whole new front end while the rear fascia will also be slightly refreshed. On the engine front, the carmaker should offer a new 9-speed automatic transmission.
2020 GMC Acadia powertrains and performances
The 2020 GMC Acadia will continue to use the same engines as its forerunner and there will be two options. So, the base is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which is capable of making 194 horses and 190 pound-feet of torque. The current model works with a 6-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive system as the default layout. However, the all-wheel drive system will be optional. This engine gets 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive variant is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
The optional unit is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine which will use the same transmission and drivetrain as the base engine. It is able to generate 310 horsepower and the torque of 271 lb-ft. The front-wheel drive model is estimated to be 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. And the AWD version gets 17/25 mpg. On the other hand, according to the latest news, it is very likely that the manufacturer will replace a 6-speed gearbox with a new 9-speed automatic transmission in both versions.
The exterior and interior redesign of the new 2020 GMC Acadia
The newest 2020 GMC Acadia will get a mid-cycle refresh and its prototype has been spotted during its testing wearing most of the camouflage on the front end. So, this time we can expect the whole new front fascia which will get a more upright design with squared-off edges. And its design will be very similar to those of the GMC Terrain and GMC Sierra SUVs. Furthermore, it will also get the new headlamps with a full-LED treatment which will feature a more angular shape. Moving to the rear end, the 2020 GMC Acadia should get new and a more vertical taillights and rectangular exhaust pipes.
Speaking of the interior design of the 2020 GMC Acadia, for now, there is no any specific news. However, we assume that it should be slightly upgraded with some new tech features and perhaps new materials.

The standard features of the new 2020 GMC Acadia will include five USB ports, three-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, keyless open and start, and many other features.
