Hyundai’s N-type of vehicles firstly arrived in 2017 and gained a huge success over the three-year time. Besides the existing i30 N and Veloster N, Santa Fe is perhaps the most likely candidate. The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N is a high-performance variant that adds plenty of sportiness and aggressiveness.
Crossovers and SUVs with the “N” badge will be a huge hit on the markets, no doubt about it. Kona and Tucson models are also the most probable candidates. This model is likely to happen later in 2019 and it will look very attractive and handsome.
2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N Exterior Specs
For the start, the “N” variant looks very sporty and much more aggressive than the base model. The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N will get plenty of updates. All chrome materials on the standard model will be replaced with black trims and that includes the front grille. Slimmer headlights, larger grille, and fog lamps are typical for the “N” badge. Also, bumpers are more aggressive and are available with larger side vents.
Red accents below and the “N” badge on the grille are also available. To the sides, extended side skirts are available in black color with red accents. Black mirror caps are visible and the ride height is lower. The rear will get the same black treatment with the all-new spoiler and darker taillights. Black roof and premium custom wheels are completing the “N” treatment.
Interior Design and Features
The all-new Santa Fe model will get plenty of updates and the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N will get the same type of updates. However, Santa Fe N comes with more unique features and better comfort. Interior room is ample and more practical. For example, cup holders are within the reach of the driver’s hand. A three-dimensional dashboard adds a big infotainment display above the center stack.
When it comes to safety, Santa Fe N hosts plenty of driver-assistance systems. That includes smart cruise control, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Also, forward collision warning and blind spot monitoring are in the offer. The all-new feature is the rear seat occupant alert that detects the passengers in the rear. Comfort is greater and the seats are sportier thanks to the heavy bolstering. Steering wheel looks very unique and it comes with blue contrast stitching.
Over 300 Horsepower
New Santa Fe gained a couple of new drivetrains. One of the engines that will power the upcoming 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N is the new Theta III engine. However, this 2.5-liter turbocharged unit is delivering over 300 horses. Regular Santa Fe is using Theta II engine that is enough for daily passenger needs. However, the N variant was all about performance and power.
For that reason, Santa Fe N is not borrowing engines from the Veloster N or the i30 N models. This SUV is heavier and it needed more power. It looks like the 2.5-liter engine is the only remaining option. A re-tuned suspension is available, along with the five-mode selector.
2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N Price and Release Date
One of the main goals of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe N is to beat its biggest rival, Ford Edge ST. For that reason, this SUV will most likely cost slightly below the Edge ST model. However, exact pricing details are not available yet. New Santa Fe N will hit the markets later in 2019, probably in the last quarter of the year.
