Jeep continues to improve its lineup of SUVs and crossovers. The segment is rapidly growing and established automakers are providing all sorts of variants. Jeep won’t be different. Company’s Compass model represents a reliable model in every category. However, the 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be something completely different.
The range-topping trim is a true off-road capable crossover. Unique suspension, more aggressive design and new transmission are available. Compass Trailhawk will also introduce numerous driving modes and better comfort from the inside.
Trailhawk will represent the off-road variant that will wear a more aggressive design. It comes with a raised suspension. That means the ride height is higher than on the base model. The 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will introduce revised front and rear bumpers. Shorter overhangs will improve the overall crossover’s approach and departure angles.
The roof is blacked out and the hood is drastically different. Trailhawk adds skid plates, two-tone alloy wheels, and all-weather floor mats. Also, a two-tone roof is available and Compass Trailhawk wears more chrome materials.
The upcoming 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will offer numerous standard equipment. Also, the interior is better over the base model. Trailhawk variant adds unique leather upholstery and it provides greater comfort.
There will be room for five passengers and the layout won’t be different. UConnect system will get an update and we can expect more driver-assistance features this time. Generally, Compass Trailhawk won’t get any significant upgrade from the inside.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk vs Jeep Compass Limited
Jeep offers numerous trim levels. The 2020 Compass is available in trims such as Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited. For the start, Sport and Latitude trim levels can’t compare with upper trims. That leaves us to choose between the Trailhawk and Limited models. Limited model offers better interior equipment and more standard features.
However, you won’t find any significant differences between those two models. The 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is more oriented towards the off-road driving experience. Trailhawk will ride on the 17-inch wheels while Limited offers more expensive 18-inch wheels. Both variants are offering a two-tone roof scheme.
Turbodiesel Engine, New Transmission, Driving Modes
Under the hood, the 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with a 2.0-liter diesel engine. This turbo unit is capable of producing 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Also, this crossover will get a brand-new 9-speed automatic transmission. Compass Trailhawk comes with a 4×4 driving system.
Also, it adds numerous driving modes. Thanks to the Jeep’s Selec-Terrain System, crossover now offers modes for different weather conditions. That includes modes such as Rock, Sand, Snow, and Mud. Systems such as hill-descent control and traction control are in the offer as well. On the other hand, the base Compass model will introduce a hybrid drivetrain. Hybrid version won’t be available on the Trailhawk model, at least for now.
