The carmaker is working on the new 2020 Nissan Rogue, but at the moment we still don’t have the precise information if it is going to be fully refreshed. On the other hand, it is very likely that we will have to wait for the 2021 model year to see some major upgrades. However, the 2020 model year will most likely get the same engines as before and perhaps some upgrades on the technology front.
2020 Nissan Rogue engines and performances
Most versions of the upcoming 2020 Nissan Rogue will be powered by the same unit found in the current model. It is a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine which will be able to produce 170 horsepower and the torque of 175 pound-feet. The engine will be mated to a continuously variable transmission and will come standard with front-wheel drive system. However, the all-wheel drive configuration will be available for all the trim levels. The FWD model will be rated at 26/33/29 mpg. Connected to all-wheel drive system, it gets 25 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined.
On the other hand, the 2020 Nissan Rogue will also be available with a hybrid engine which will combine a 2.0-liter inline-4 with an electric motor of 30 kWh. So, the total output of this unit will be 176 hp. It will also work with a CVT and it is rated at 34 mpg combined.
Design of exterior and interior
At the moment, it is still uncertain if the 2020 Nissan Rogue will be completely overhauled or we will have to wait for the 2021 model year to see some major improvements. Still, the carmaker has revealed the new Nissan Xmotion model with three rows of seats and the new autonomous driving technology. However, it doesn’t mean that it is going to be the next Rogue model.
Moving to the interior of the 2020 Nissan Rogue, it is very likely that we will see some improvements in the materials and more tech features. As before, it will come with two rows of seats and will be able to welcome up to five passengers. The front seats are excellent and provide great comfort and are supportive. The second row of seats will also be cozy and will have plenty of headroom. They can be folded as well which increases the cargo room to 70 cubic feet.
The 2020 Nissan Rogue is expected to be available in the same trim levels as the current model. And those include S, SV, and SL trims. The base features will include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic emergency braking, active lane control, Bluetooth, cloth seats, blind-spot monitors, and 17-inch wheels. The SV will add rear automatic emergency braking, 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition, upgraded audio system, power adjustable driver’s seat, and remote start. The SL will get 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, navigation, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, ProPilot Assist, premium audio, and so on.
