New 2020 Nissan Xterra will be back on the market by the end of 2019. This model is brought back after five years. It’ll be offered to the customers around the globe except on the American soil. This new model belongs to the third-generation of Nissan Xterra’s and it’s going to look up to the Nissan Terra mid-size SUV.
The forthcoming 2020 Nissan Xterra will have the same platform as the Nissan Navara pickup truck. Furthermore, the interior and exterior will be having an innovative and modern look. To summarize, new Xterra will arrive with great capabilities and as a multi-skilled SUV.
2020 Xterra Exterior Redesign
The upcoming 2020 Nissan Xterra will be sharing the same platform with the Nissan Navara pickup truck. The similar architecture can be found on Renault Alaskan but when it comes to styling, new Xterra will relay on Nissan Frontier. Both models will feature the same design language. Logically, Nissan’s Rogue model also had a great impact on Xterra’s design.
According to Nissan, Xterra is just one of the long term plans. New-gen model will look modern and attractive. The front fascia is dominated by new headlights and a new grille. Hood is far from unique, but it still looks handsome. Rear part features a more angular approach and rear bumper is larger than the bumper on Rogue model. Taillights are also brand-new and cleaner design is visible at first glance.
The interior of the all-new 2020 Nissan Xterra looks pleasant and modern. As expected, the cabin shares nothing with the previous model. There will be plenty of upscale features and materials. The layout is great and comfort is guaranteed. Modern shapes of the vents and buttons are completely new.
Xterra will offer a room for seven passengers. That means the three-row layout is present once again. Base cloth upholstery provides good comfort but optional leather is more than recommendable. Some reports are suggesting a two-row five-seat model in the near future.
Two Engine Options
The new model will offer two engine options. The first unit is a 2.3-liter V6 that delivers 188 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and optional four-wheel-drive system. Optionally, you can equip new 2020 Nissan Xterra with a 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Duramax diesel will arrive with a new 7-speed automatic transmission.
Once again, the four-wheel-drive setup will be optional. We are still waiting for full engine’s details. You can expect almost 300 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, fuel economy figures will be slightly better than on the gasoline version.
2020 Nissan Xterra Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2020 Nissan Xterra will start between $25,000 and $30,000. We can expect numerous trim levels and special packages. The sales will start in the last quarter of 2019. But there is a catch. Xterra won’t arrive in North America, at least for now.
Some speculations are already saying that the 2021 Xterra is heading to the U.S. However, this information is yet to be confirmed. Until then, Xterra will start with sales in Asia, particularly in China.
