The all-new 2021 GMC Acadia is official for the next year. This mid-size SUV was supposed to arrive later this year. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, General Motors will release this model in 2021, most likely in the first quarter. The latest reports are saying the 2021 Acadia will arrive with more significant refreshments.
The second-gen model has been present since 2017 and it gained huge success. New Acadia will hit the dealerships with revised exterior and GM will offer three engine options. The new transmission is also in the offer and the interior will get various updates. Overall, Acadia will arrive with a lot of improvements and hopefully, we will see the best Acadia so far.
2021 Acadia Exterior Changes
The forthcoming 2021 GMC Acadia will get numerous exterior modifications. However, a redesign is still not on the cards. Instead, General Motors will provide mid-cycle refreshments. The mid-size SUV provides reliability and it looks great. The new model will get a more aggressive appearance, besides its off-road AT4 trim level.
For a start, GM will provide wider grille and sharper LED headlights. If you opt for the AT4 model, you will get new dark-themed grille and sportier 17-inch alloy wheels. Moreover, GM offers all-terrain tires and optional 20-inch wheels. As for the regular model, expect new taillights and improved bodywork.
The interior of the arriving mid-size SUV should be updated as well. The upcoming 2021 GMC Acadia will provide more upscale materials and some new technology. On the other hand, the current Acadia is already full of soft-touch surfaces and upright materials. Active noise cancelation is available and the three-row seating layout will remain. Cargo area has been rated at 12.8 cubic feet of space. However, fold the seats flat and you will get impressive 79.0 cubics.
GM will try to offer more equipment in Acadia’s entry-level models. For example, the SL trim level will get tri-zone automatic climate control and a larger touchscreen. Moreover, a keyless open/start feature is available too. The SLT buyers will get an even larger display with Wi-Fi hotspot and much more. Still, the range-topping Denali trim level is the most luxurious variant you can get.
Acadia is known for a quality rive and its powerful engines. Mix that with upright interior and nice-looking exterior design and you will get impressive mid-size SUV. The 2021 GMC Acadia comes with the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 193 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque. If you want more power, optional 3.6-liter V6 is the right choice.
Powerful V6 provides 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of twisting power. Lastly, a 2.0-liter turbo-four is in the offer too and it generates 230 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. General Motors will offer a brand-new 9-speed automatic transmission. That means the current and aging 6-speed gearbox is gone.
2021 GMC Acadia Release Date and Price
The upcoming 2021 GMC Acadia will cost $30,000. It is a small jump in price over the current model. New Acadia will also offer Denali trim level that starts at over $50,000.
The mid-size SUV will rival Honda Pilot, Ford Edge, new Kia Sorento, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. As we already wrote, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, GM will most likely release new Acadia next year.
