The all-new 2021 Lexus RX is bringing more updates. That includes more standard features for the base trim level and slight design changes. Both RX 350 and RX 450h are very popular models in the mid-size luxury segment. A new version will get a facelift, as Lexus clearly plans to make its crossovers more competitive. For that reason, you can expect changes in every department.
The interior will gain more high-quality materials, more tech, and a higher level of comfort. Even the exterior design will be changed for 2021. Under the hood, we expect the same engine lineup. However, Lexus will provide more power and higher fuel efficiency to its current engines. As always before, a hybrid version is still the best and probably the most popular option in Lexus’ lineup of crossovers and SUVs.
2021 RX Exterior Facelift
As for the design, a new 2021 Lexus RX will look more distinctive than its predecessor. Once again, the RX variant looks so unique and premium. However, Lexus will deliver an even better look thanks to the latest refreshments. We are not talking about a complete redesign, but some changes are significant. The front fascia comes with the same spindle grille that looks slightly bolder.
On top of that, LED headlights are finished in a different shape. C-pillars are blacked-out, so the floating roof effect is present again. The RX L version is also available. This model is longer for 4.3 inches over the regular RX with two-rows. We like the F Sport model that comes with more aggression and larger 20-inch wheels.
Interior Gets More Technology
On the inside, a new 2021 Lexus RX will be improved as well. The manufacturer will try to deliver better comfort thanks to the additional high-quality materials. However, the interior already looks and feels upscale, and everything inside the cabin looks so stylish. Complete RX lineup offers a lot of optional equipment.
On the other hand, the 2021 RX will gain more standard equipment. That includes new driver-assistance features, a new infotainment system, and much more. The two-row version can accommodate five passengers, and its cargo area is rated at 56 cubic feet. Third-row is optional, and it increases the number of seats to seven.
The upcoming 2021 Lexus RX will offer a couple of drivetrain options. The base RX 350 model comes with a 3.5-liter V6 that can deliver 295 hp. On top of that, if you opt for the F-Sport trim, the very same engine sits under the hood. Even the RX 350 L is using this output. As for the RX 450h model, a 3.5-liter V6 is mated to a 123-kW electric motor/generator and a battery pack.
Moreover, the AWD system is offered as standard. Total output is rated at 308 horsepower, and you can expect astonishing fuel efficiency figures. For 2021, Lexus will try to deliver more power and even better fuel economy numbers.
2021 Lexus RX Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2021 Lexus RX will get a small jump in price thanks to the latest refreshments. The base trim level will cost around $45,000, and the F Sport version has been priced at $49,000.
The larger RX 350 L starts at $48,500 and RX 450h at $49,000. Lexus will release its new RX lineup later in 2020, probably in the last quarter of the year. The 2021 RX will try to rival BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
