The upcoming 2021 Mazda CX-7 is going on sale this year. The Japanese manufacturer will introduce its all-new crossover later in 2020. CX-7 model looks more stylish than the rest of the company’s models, and it wears a more upright cabin. Again, the Kodo design language is visible at first glance.
However, Mazda slightly tweaked a couple of things on the outside. The 2021 CX-7 will arrive as a mid-size crossover-SUV after been discounted in 2012. The comeback will definitely bring a couple of exciting things, and the price will start at around $30,000.
2021 CX-7 Design
As we said, the 2021 Mazda CX-7 will wear the brand’s famous Kodo design language. However, Mazda will change a couple of things. Thanks to that, the new CX-7 will look more stylish and more modern. The styling is almost the same as on the smaller CX-5 and larger CX-9 models. New Mazda’s crossover-SUV borrows plenty of things from these two models. That includes the same traditional grille with the higher front fascia.
The same shape of the LED headlights is visible at first glance, as well. According to the latest reports, CX-7 will arrive with a 110-inch long wheelbase, and the crossover will be 190 inches long. Some details are still not available yet, but we expect for Mazda to deliver a more unique model than the rest of the lineup. That means you should expect a couple of brand-new exterior features.
The interior of the 2021 Mazda CX-7 looks very attractive, in our opinion. The cabin hosts familiar cues and features that are typical for all Mazda’s crossovers and SUVs. However, this is a good thing as Mazda delivers a very upright interior design. Like the CX-5 model, the CX-7 will be a spacious model, and all of the passengers can enjoy ample legroom. The base trim level offers plenty of standard equipment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Moreover, Bluetooth and SiriusXM radio are standard too. CX-7 will obtain wireless charging, navigation, and much more high-tech amenities. If you want luxury, then Grand Touring trim level is the answer. This range-topping trim comes with systems such as AudioPilot and Centerpoint 2. Larger display, leather upholstery, and voice commands are all standard in the CX-7 Grand Touring version.
Two Engine Choices
Once it arrives, the new 2021 Mazda CX-7 will offer two engine options. A 2.5-liter is standard, and it generates 175 horsepower. Moreover, this unit delivers 310 lb-ft of torque. The engine will use a familiar six-speed automatic transmission and the front-wheel-drive setup. The alternative is a SkyActive-D engine.
It is an optional 2.2-liter output with 225 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Don’t be surprised if Mazda offers something different, because this isn’t official yet. However, these two engines are the most likely candidates for brand-new CX-7 crossover SUV.
2021 Mazda CX-7 Release Date and Price
New mid-size crossover SUV will slot above CX-5 and below the CX-9 model. Not only in terms of size, but also in terms of price. The 2021 Mazda CX-7 should cost around $30,000 or slightly below that. The CX-7 model will go on sale later in 2020. Most likely, Mazda will release it in the last quarter of the year.
