The upcoming 2021 Toyota RAV4 is offering so many options in every department. Besides the existing gasoline version, RAV4 will also get Prime model. It will be a first built-in plug-in hybrid model from the Japanese manufacturer. RAV4 crossover will gain numerous refreshments in terms of styling as well.
Even the interior will largely benefit from the latest novelties. However, Toyota will try to improve its upper trim levels and performance could gain a small boost also. The price will jump, but not significantly, which is another good news. We will see new 2021 RAV4 in the second half of 2020.
2021 RAV4 Exterior and Interior Refreshments
Redesign is no longer on the cards as some reports speculated. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 will arrive with minor exterior upgrades. Whatsoever, most of the changes are basically not visible. On the other hand, some changes such as more extensive grille are easy to spot. Moreover, the rear bumper looks bolder and new subtle creases are in the offer too.
As for the interior, RAV4 will get small interior upgrades. You can expect slightly more standard equipment and new driver-assistance features. In terms of design, the cabin will largely remain. Still, upper trim levels such as Adventure or Limited could gain more luxury.
Current 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 176 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque will remain. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 remains unchanged and a 6-speed automatic transmission is available once again. Japanese manufacturer will offer an optional AWD and RAV4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds. Additionally, its fuel economy is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime
Now, the 2021 RAV4 Prime is almost ready to arrive. Prime version is the first RAV4 built-in hybrid model so far. It will use the same 2.5-liter engine but it will also deliver more power. Thanks to re-tuning, RAV4 Prime will produce 302 horsepower and it will offer standard AWD system. Moreover, Prime model provides 39 miles of all-electric range. Lastly, its acceleration has been rated at 5.8 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.
In terms of design, Prime version looks sleeker and it offers more premium features. An 18-inch wheels are available, along with the more distinctive grille and latest piano-black accents. Lower front spoiler has been added and Toyota will introduce a power liftgate system. The interior will look more premium, thanks to the larger displays, new upholstery and more high-quality materials.
Price and Arrival Date
In terms of price, new 2021 Toyota RAV4 will cost $27,000. On the other hand, Limited trim level will start at around $35,000. Mentioned RAV4 Prime is the latest version that delivers stronger performances and better mileage.
This model should become available for $30,000. Toyota’s latest compact crossover will hit the dealerships this Summer. RAV4 will look to rival Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.
